Photography I, II, & III

Why Take Photography?

Animation

Art Foundations (photo and animation projects along with 2D/3D projects)

IB Art Studio

Digital Photography classes teach students the basics of photography including, but not limited to:

Field Trips to practice photography skills

Visiting photographers and artists to learn new techniques and/or business practices

How to shoot on manual mode: aperture, shutter speed, ISO

Exposure

Skills & Techniques

Variety of Mediums: Digital Photography, cyanotypes, photo transfers

Engaging Lessons on light writing, bokeh, portraits, etc.

Composition

Creativity & Expression

Problem-Solving, Resilience, Collaboration, & Communication

Critiquing & Reflection

Career Skills: Portraits and Food Photography

Upper level students use more equipment including special lenses (fisheye, lensbaby, fixed, telephoto)

Upper level students also have more student choice and can learn about how to start a business and different types of career choices (commercial, photography, landscape, freelance, street, photojournalism)

Website/Portfolio Development for students that would like to start a photography business

Animation Class teaches students the basics of animation including, but not limited to:

Principles of Animation

Character Design

Story Writing

Storyboarding

Background Design

Stop Motion Animation

Skills & Techniques

Variety of Animation Types (student choice): Claymation, Cel/Drawn, Stop Motion, Paper, Digital (on students' personal equipment)
